Disconnect the foot controller and then press the start/stop button.
But if you want to sew with the foot controller, then do not press the start/stop button while the foot controller is connected.
Cause of error:
This error warning sign appears when you start the sewing machine while the presser foot is raised.
Solution:
Lower the presser foot of your sewing machine and then restart it. The problem will be fixed.
Cause of error:
When the bobbin winder spindle of your sewing machine is shifted towards the right, this error sign appears on the screen.
Solution:
You have to move the bobbin winder spindle towards the left side to be able to perform stitching.
Cause of error:
When this error warning sign appears on the screen, it means the sewing machine is telling you that it will stop if you sew the buttonhole without lowering the buttonhole lever position.

You should wait 15 to 20 seconds for the sewing machine to start.

Audible error signals of ELNA EX570 sewing machine
Sometimes, you might hear different sounds while using the ELNA EX570 sewing machine. Those sounds are audible signals and here’s what they mean:
Sound: Pip
If you hear only a pip sound, it means you have performed a normal operation.
Sound: Pip-Pip-Pip
The pip-pip-pip sound indicates you have performed an invalid operation OR there is a malfunction in your sewing machine.

If you hear a Peep sound while working, it means that error E1-E7 has occurred.

Error codes of ELNA 940/990 sewing machine

ELNA sewing machine error code E00
Cause of error:
This error code appears due to a communication problem with the RCS. You won’t see the error code on the RCS, but your machine will remain stuck at the Welcome message and not move to the next step.
Solution:
Inspect the connection between the RCS plug, RCS unit, the connector of the machine, and the B board. Make sure it is not too loose or damaged.
Otherwise, try using another RCS unit to find out which part has the problem.
ELNA sewing machine error code E01
Cause of error:
When the stepping motor initializes incorrectly OR it does not initialize at all, the error code E01 appears.
Solution:
Turn off the sewing machine.
While the sewing machine is off, move the head towards needle #4, move the carriage unit to the front, and then towards the right. Now turn on the sewing machine and see what does not calibrate.
ELNA sewing machine error code E02
Cause of error:
The error code E02 indicates a needle bar changeover.
Solution:
- Turn off the sewing machine and restart.
- Remove the stationary cover of your sewing machine and rotate the handwheel to bring it to the 270 degrees C position.
Now turn the silver gear on the needle-change step motor by using a 2.5mm hex driver and bring it from needle bar 1 to 4 and then back from needle bar 4 to 1. It will help you check if there are any binds. If you find a bind, you will have to adjust the head play.
After that, you need to check and adjust the needle stop position and the moving head stop position.
ELNA sewing machine error code E03
Cause of error:
If the needle bar is out of position, you will see the error code E03 on the screen.
Solution:
Press the OK button to move the needle bar to a switching position.
Remove the stationary cover, and move the handwheel to the 270 degrees C position. Use a 2.5mm hex drive to turn the silver gear on the needle change step motor and move the head from needle bar #1 to #4 and then back from #4 to #1 and check for any binds.
Check and adjust the needle stop position and the moving head stop position.
ELNA sewing machine error code E04
Cause of error:
The error code E04 means there is something wrong with the DC motor.
Solution:
- Clean the DC motor sensor and also check if the shield plate is not hitting the sensor or it is too loose. If you find the shield plate or sensor on the DC motor damaged, you will have to replace the motor.
- Try resetting the DC motor. Hold the Bobbin Winder and Forward buttons on the RCS unit and turn on the sewing machine. Press the clear button and turn off your machine.
ELNA sewing machine error code E05
Cause of error:
The error code E05 appears when the thread is broken due to any reason.
Sometimes, it appears even if the thread is not broken because it is just the sewing machine that thinks the thread is broken and hence shows you this error.
Solution:
Remove all the broken threads and then rethread the sewing machine.
If there is no broken thread but you are still getting this error message, check the connections, needle bar height, hook timing, presser bar height, etc. Otherwise, replace the circuit board.
ELNA sewing machine error code E07
Cause of error:
When the thread cutter of your sewing machine malfunctions, you get error code E07 on the screen.
Solution:
Inspect the thread cutter linkage and check for any binds. Check if the connections are not too loose or damaged.
Otherwise, replace the dynamic thread cutter unit.
ELNA sewing machine error code E08
Cause of error:
When the tension discs of your sewing machine are open, you get the error code E08.
Solution:
First, check if the tension lever responsible for opening tension discs is not engaged. If it is engaged, that is what causes the tension discs to open again and again.
If that’s not the case, remove the tension unit cover, check the micro switch and adjust its position. You can also replace it if necessary.
ELNA sewing machine error code E09
Cause of error:
When the driving motor of your sewing machine malfunctions, the error code E09 appears on the screen.
Solution:
Try to reset the motor. Hold the Forward and Bobbin Winder buttons on the RCS and then turn on your sewing machine. Press the CLEAR button and shut down the sewing machine like normal.
If nothing works, try replacing the DC motor.
Error codes of ELNA 740 sewing machine
Now let’s explore the error codes of the ELNA 740 sewing machine.
But before you do anything, you need to check if your ELNA 740 sewing machine has the new updated ‘A’ board.
Remove the belt cover and see from the side of the machine where all wires are going inside. If all the wires are plugged into the board and no wire is soldered or glued to the board, you need to update your board with the latest one.
ELNA 740 sewing machine error code E1
Cause of error:
The error code E1 is displayed when there is a problem with the Zigzag motor.
Solution:
- Check the connections of your Zigzag motor.
- Turn off the sewing machine and move the needle bar left and right multiple times. You should be able to feel the step motor’s friction.
- Clean the zigzag motor sensors and remove any threads tangled in the gears of the motor.
- If nothing works, replace the zigzag motor of your machine.
ELNA 740 sewing machine error code E2
Cause of error:
The error code E2 means there is a problem with the feed step motor.
Solution:
Turn off the machine and raise the presser foot.
Now push the step motor gear back and forth multiple times. It is large and has a triangular shape. You should feel the friction of the step motor and there should be no binds.
Next, check for any threads tangled in the gears and also clean the sensor of the feed step motor.
If no solution works, replace the feed step motor of your sewing machine.
ELNA 740 sewing machine error code E4
Cause of error:
The error code E4 appears due to a problem in the thread cutter motor of your sewing machine.
Solution:
Check if the connections are not too loose or damaged badly. If they are, fix them to solve this issue.
Check the gears of the thread cutter motor and make sure there are no threads or pieces of fabric stuck in those gears. If there are, remove them right now. Also, check and adjust the position of the micro switch.

ELNA 740 sewing machine error code E5
Cause of error:
When your sewing machine fails to detect the Zigzag phase, it displays error code E5 on the screen.
Solution:
The shield plate set screw on the lower shaft might be loose. You need to adjust the set plate position and make sure that the blades of the set plate are as close to the sensors as possible. After that, you can tighten the loose screw.
Also, clean the lower shaft sensor if it is dirty and replace it if necessary.
ELNA 740 sewing machine error code E6
Cause of error:
When your sewing machine fails to detect the feed phase, it displays the error code E6 on the screen.
Solution:
The lower shafts’ shield plate set screw might be loose. You need to adjust the set plate position and make sure that the blades of the set plate are as close to the sensors as possible. After that, you can tighten the loose screw.
Clean the lower shaft sensor and replace it if necessary.
ELNA 740 sewing machine error code E7
Cause of error:
When the machine user presses the thread cutter button too many times, it leads to error code E7.
You can only press the thread cutter button three times in a row.
Solution:
Restart the sewing machine and avoid pressing the thread cutter button so many times. Just be patient and do not spam that button.

ELNA sewing machine fuse blown
To check if the fuse of your sewing machine has blown, you need to move the needle to the highest position and turn on the sewing machine. If you see an error E1 on the screen, turn off the machine.
Now place the needle in the lowest position and turn on the sewing machine. If you see error E2 on the screen, it means that the 3.15A, 250V white thermo-fuse has blown.
Error code E1
Cause of error:
The error code E1 means a problem with the zigzag motor of your machine.
Solution:
Turn off the machine and move the needle bar left and right several times. Feel the friction of the motor.
Remove any threads or fabric tangled in the gears of the motor.
Replace the zigzag motor if it is broken or if there is another necessary reason.
Error code E2
Cause of error:
When there is a problem with the feed motor, you will see error E2.
Solution:
First, make sure the connections are alright and not damaged or too loose.
Check and remove any threads tangled in the gears of the feed motor.
If no solution works or some part of the motor is broken, you will have to replace the motor.
Error code E9
Cause of error:
The error code E9 indicates a problem with the upper shaft sensor of your sewing machine.
Solution:
First, check if all the connections to this sensor are not too loose or in bad condition. If they are, then fix them.
Next, you need to clean the upper shaft sensor and ensure that the shield plate perfectly goes through the middle of the sensor. If the sensor or shield plate is damaged, you should replace them.
