Error codes of singer sewing machine [C-series]

Singer sewing machine error code C1 (bobbin winder shaft is at wrong position)
Cause of error:
The error code C1 appears in two cases:
- When the bobbin winder shaft of your sewing machine is at the wrong position for the selected function.
- When you press the reverse button on the sewing machine during bobbin winding.
Solution:
There are two methods to solve the error code C1:
- If you are about to start sewing then move the bobbin winder shaft to the left side. But if you are going for bobbin winding then move the bobbin shaft to the right.
- Never press the reverse button while you are bobbin winding.
Singer sewing machine error code C2 (incorrect position of buttonhole lever)
Cause of error:
The error code C2 appears in the following three cases:
- When you have selected buttonhole stitch on the stitch control panel but the buttonhole lever is present in an incorrect position.
- When you select a stitch pattern but the buttonhole lever is already engaged and present in a lower position.
- When the starting position of the buttonhole lever is incorrect.
Solution:
Here are the three solutions to solve the error code C2:
- If the problem is due to the first reason, lower the position of the buttonhole lever and then start sewing.
- If the problem is due to the second reason then raise the position of the buttonhole lever before you start sewing.
- If the problem is due to the third cause, lower the position of the buttonhole lever in a way that it is present between the stoppers.
Singer sewing machine error code C3 (foreign object in the foot control socket)
Cause of error:
There are two main reasons why you are getting error code C3:
- There is a foreign/unknown object present in your sewing machine’s socket for foot control.
- When the foot control is connected or disconnected from the sewing machine.
Solution:
This is how you can solve the error code C3 on the singer sewing machine:
- Inspect the foot control socket of your sewing machine and remove any foreign particles stuck in there.
- Sometimes, the error code C3 appears when you connect or disconnect the foot controller from the sewing machine. In such a case, you only need to wait a couple of seconds and the error message will disappear.
Singer sewing machine error code C4 (machine jammed)
Cause of error:
The error code C4 appears due to the following reasons:
- When your sewing machine cannot operate anymore because it is jammed. Mainly due to the threads tangled in the bobbin case and pieces of fabric stuck in the other parts.
- When the belt of your sewing machine has come off.
Solution:
- Turn off your sewing machine and then inspect all the parts. Open and clean the sewing machine thoroughly and remove all the threads tangled in the bobbin case. Also, remove the fabrics stuck inside the sewing machine.
- If the sewing machine is not jammed due to tangled threads, it is probably the belt. Disassemble your sewing machine by following the instructions in the user manual. Put the belt back in its place and the machine will start working.
Singer sewing machine error code C5 (stitch pattern doesn’t operate)
Cause of error:
If you select a stitch pattern that cannot operate when the tacking/reverse stitch mode is ON then you get error code C5.
Solution:
To fix this error, you have to select a stitch pattern that can operate even if the tacking and reverse stitch mode is ON.
Singer sewing machine error code C6 (top thread broken)
Cause of error:
When the top thread of your sewing machine has broken due to any reason, error code C6 appears on the screen.
Solution:
First, raise the presser foot of your machine and pull out the broken thread.
After that, rethread your sewing machine.
Singer sewing machine error code C7 (foot controller pushed down earlier)
Cause of error:
If you push down the foot controller of the sewing machine before lowering the foot presser then you will get error code C7 on the screen.
Solution:
To get rid of this error, you should first lower the presser foot and then press the foot controller for sewing.
Error codes of singer sewing machine [E-series]
The E-series error codes of the singer sewing machine indicate that there is a system error in your sewing machine.
Singer sewing machine error code E1
When the main shaft motor of your sewing machine stops working, you get the error code E1.
Singer sewing machine error code E2
If the bobbin winder shaft starts sending abnormal signals then you get error code E2.
Singer sewing machine error code E4 (needle bar not moving)
The E4 error code occurs when the needle bar of your sewing machine is unable to move.
It occurs due to some problems in the gears that move the needle bar or the sensors that move the gears and the needle bar.
Singer sewing machine error code E6
The error code E6 appears when the cam sensors of your sewing machine become faulty and send abnormal signals.
Singer sewing machine error code E7
If the sewing machine is powered ON and the reverse stitch button is engaged, it leads to error code E7.
For this specific error, turn off the machine. When you turn it ON again, press the rewind/reverse button immediately.
Solution for all E error codes of singer sewing machine
Turn off your sewing machine and wait for 2 minutes. After that, restart the sewing machine and see if the error code is gone or not.

Singer sewing machine error signs
Sometimes, your singer sewing machine shows error signs instead of displaying any error code. Let’s take a look at the most common ones and what they mean:

Cause of error:
When you press the foot control without choosing any pattern, the machine will show you three question marks sign (???). It means that the machine is asking you to select a pattern before sewing.
Solution:
Select a pattern and the error sign will disappear.
Singer sewing machine bobbin winder sign
Cause of error:
If your sewing machine is showing a bobbin winder error sign it means that the bobbin winder is in use.
Solution:
First, check the bobbin winder’s position. If it is at an incorrect position, move it to the left side to solve the error.
Singer sewing machine buttonhole lever with a down arrow sign
Cause of error:
If your sewing machine is showing a buttonhole lever sign along with a down arrow, it means that you are trying buttonholing while the buttonhole lever is raised. With that down arrow sign, the machine is asking you to lower the buttonhole lever.
Solution:
You need to lower the buttonhole lever to solve this problem.
Singer sewing machine buttonhole lever with an up arrow sign
Cause of error:
If your buttonhole lever is down while sewing patterns, you will see a buttonhole lever sign along with an up arrow on the screen. It means that the machine is telling you to raise the buttonhole lever.
Solution: Raise the buttonhole lever before you continue sewing patterns.
