Take off the pants and turn them inside out to see if you have done a perfect job. Once satisfied, measure the pant starting from the pant leg edge to the fold using a measuring tape and make sure the two pant legs are equally cuffed. - Iron the pant cuffs to create a strong crease where each cuff is folded.
- Go to the creased hemlines and measure 1.5 inches and chalk the measurement around the two pant legs. After that, remove the pins and cut all the excess fabrics that extend beyond the chalked pant legs. Use the straight pin to secure the fabric in place.
How to hem scrub pants with a sewing machine
- Turn the scrub fabric inside out and select a thread with a color that matches the color of your scrub fabric.
- Thread the needle and put the sewing machine in the blind stitch setting. Place the scrub pant under the needle with the folded side up.
- Start to stitch around the pant leg, sewing in straight-line stitches while also looking out for the kind so that you don’t stitch on them.
- Repeat step 3 for the send pant leg.
How to hem scrub pants with hand
- Thread the needle with a thread that has a similar color to your scrub pants and make a knot at the thread end.
- Insert the needle into the hem fold in the upward direction to hide the knot, then pick up a fragment of fabric inside the folded edge of the garment using the needle. Make the stitch small, and also make sure your sewing is only through one layer because it will show on the right side.
- Repeat every half to a quarter inch.
- On the completion of your final stitch, tie a knot and cut the excess thread with your scissors.
How to hem pants with tape
- Cut the sewing tape to the same size as the hem with scissors.
- Place the sewing tape slowly between the hem and the pants and press down with a hot iron. This should help to fuse the hem to the pant.
